VENUE
The Capital Challenge Horse Show is held at the Prince George’s
Equestrian Center in Upper Marlboro, MD. The indoor facility boasts
internationally acclaimed footing in a 120’ x 240’ ring. The
climate-controlled arena has seating for 3000 with a rotunda lined
with boutiques.
The outdoor facilities include a 150’ x 300’ show ring with an
adjacent schooling ring. Just outside the outdoor show ring sits the
“Captain’s Galley” a raised, covered lounge where exhibitors can sit
and relax or take advantage of the complementary drinks and snacks.
Spectators are welcome to watch both the indoor and outdoor
competition free of charge. Bleacher seating is available for the
outdoor arena.
The town of Upper Marlboro is the County Seat of Prince George’s
County. It is located just to the east of Washington D.C. near the
crossroads of Rt. 301 and Pennsylvania Avenue (RT4). The town,
settled around 1695, sits on the Western Branch of the Patuxent River
and was named after the first Duke of Marlborough – an ancestor of
Winston Churchill.
