Countdown to Capital Challenge! Only Three Months Remain Before Riders “Rise to the Challenge"

The Capital Challenge Horse Show will return to the Prince George’s Equestrian Center in Upper Marlboro, MD, for the show’s 26th year on September 27 through October 6, 2019.
 
The popular, year-end horse show, presented by the World Equestrian Center and recognized in 2018 as a U.S. Equestrian Heritage Competition, will again host the World Championship Hunter Rider (WCHR) Finals, the $25,000 3’ and 3’3” Green Hunter North American Championships, three days of equitation competition during “Equitation Weekend,” and much more.
 
“It’s really unlike any other competition in the country," said Capital Challenge Horse Show manager and co-founder, Oliver Kennedy. “Thanks to an incredible group of sponsors and supporters, we're able to continue to attract the nation's top horses and riders year after year. This is now growing into the most important hunter show in the country.”

Highlights of this year’s 10-day show include:
 
Equitation Weekend, September 27–29, presented by BIGEQ.COM and featuring the: 
  • Taylor Harris Insurance Services National Children’s Medal Finals
  • EMO Insurance/United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) 3’3” Jumping Seat Medal Final – East
  • Palm Beach International Academy North American Junior Equitation Final
  • North American Adult Amateur Equitation Championships
 
WCHR Hunter Challenges and Finals, including the: 
  • $30,000 WCHR Professional Challenge
  • $10,000 WCHR Professional Finals
  • WCHR Developing Pro Challenge
  • WCHR Children’s Hunter Challenge
  • WCHR Adult Amateur Hunter Challenge
  • WCHR Pony Hunter Challenge
  • WCHR Junior 3’3” Hunter Challenge
  • WCHR Junior 3’6” Hunter Challenge 
  • WCHR Amateur-Owner 3’3” Hunter Challenge
  • WCHR Amateur-Owner 3’6” Hunter Challenge   
 
The widely-popular 3’ and 3’3” Green Hunter divisions, featuring the: 
  • $25,000 3’ and 3’3” Green Hunter North American Championships
 
Jumper classes and divisions, including the: 
  • $10,000 North American 1.30-1.35m Medium Junior/Amateur Owner Jumper Classic
  • $10,000 1.10m Adult Amateur Jumper Classic
  • 1.20-1.25m Low Junior/Amateur Jumper division
 
Additional featured classes, like the: 
  • Ariat National Adult Medal Finals
 
The full 2019 prize list and schedule will be available on July 31, with entries accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
 
With only three months remaining until it’s time for riders to “Rise to the Challenge,” exhibitors and attendees can begin to plan their visit and make reservations at one of the Capital Challenge Horse Show’s official partner hotels, available to view here!

About the Capital Challenge Horse Show 
Now in its 26th year, the Capital Challenge Horse Show, presented by the World Equestrian Center, sets itself apart with a distinct and unique focus on preeminent hunter and equitation competition. Held each autumn at the Prince George’s Equestrian Center in Upper Marlboro, MD, the 2019 edition of the Capital Challenge Horse Show will take place September 27 through October 6. The 10 days of competition will include prestigious equitation events, jumper divisions, the World Championship Hunter Rider (WCHR) Finals, the $25,000 3’ and 3’3” Green Hunter North American Championships, and more, with many of the country’s best horses and riders competing in junior, amateur, and professional divisions.
